Maestrale Green Energy develops, builds and operates a network of wind farms in Italy. As a result of the Kyoto treaty and recent regulations, Italy will have to progressively produce more green energy. Maestrale is benefiting from this regulatory pressure and has focused on wind energy as a viable and faster way to deliver more green energy to the national grid.
The business has been set up mid 2005 and has been funded and managed primarily by Amplio’s partners. Maestrale is currently in the process of developing 400 MW of wind farms in Italy to be built in the next three to four years.
Since 2005 Maestrale has created a platform with strategic value resulting in a successful sale to Theolia, a company listed om the French stock exchange participated by General Electric.
