Amplio Solar is a developer and operator of large scale solar plants primarily based in Italy but also expanding into the UK. Currently, the Company has 100 MW in development in Italy. The Company aims to create a significant presence in this fragmented and growing market to reach a critical scale. The ultimate objective would be to create a pan-European player by aggregating other European developers to create a strong international platform in the solar business.
The Company aims to primarily operate plants by choosing the best available technology given existing tariff legislation.
Amplio Solar currently has 9 MW of operating MW and 25 MW of permitted sites to be built in 2011.
In addition, in 2010, Amplio Solar launched their UK operation where they aim to develop their own projects and also distribute different brands of panels for the retail and residential market.
